We may license or sell de-identified or aggregated analytics data, using industry-standard techniques such as differential privacy, data masking, or removal of direct identifiers to ensure that no individual can be reasonably identified (non-personal) to partners, advertisers, or research groups to improve homeschooling resources and support platform development.

6. Advertising and Analytics

Homeschool Hive may allow contextual and behavioral advertising. We do not sell your personal data for ad targeting, but we may:

  • Use first-party cookies to inform regional ads
  • Share anonymized usage trends with advertisers
  • Leverage third-party ad networks in the future with proper disclosures

We may use Google Ad Manager, PostHog, or similar tools to enable analytics and advertising features. Users can manage advertising preferences and opt out of certain tracking methods by visiting our Advertising Preferences Center or reviewing the list of ad partners linked therein. Future use of advertising will respect applicable privacy laws and user preferences.

7. Data Security

  • Secure database storage (e.g., Supabase policies)
  • Role-based access control for staff and group leaders

No method of data transmission is 100% secure. You use the Platform at your own risk.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by applicable laws and regulations. Retention durations vary depending on the type of data:

  • Account Information: Retained for the duration of the account’s active use and up to 12 months after deactivation.
  • Analytics Data: Retained for no more than 24 months for performance monitoring and service optimization.
  • Support Logs and Communications: Retained for up to 36 months to ensure quality assurance, dispute resolution, and compliance documentation.

You may request the deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting support@homeschoolhive.co. We will process such requests in accordance with legal obligations and verification requirements.

9. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. Homeschool Hive does not knowingly permit children to create or maintain accounts. All accounts must be created and managed by adults aged 18 or older. Parents or guardians have the right to access, update, or delete the personal information associated with their child's account in accordance with applicable laws such as COPPA.

10. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, including under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you may have the right to:

  • Delete your account or request data erasure

12. International Users

Homeschool Hive is operated in the United States. If you are located outside the U.S. and choose to use the Platform, your personal data may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. In such cases, the legal basis for processing your personal data may include your explicit consent, performance of a contract, or legitimate interest, in accordance with applicable data protection laws such as the GDPR.
