Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") outlines the rules and restrictions that govern your use of the Homeschool Hive platform (the "Platform"). All users, including group organizers, participants, and advertisers, must comply with this policy to maintain a safe, respectful, and legally compliant environment.

This AUP is a legally binding part of the Terms & Conditions of The Hive Network, LLC.

1.1 Definitions

  • Platform refers to the Homeschool Hive web application and any associated services.
  • User includes any individual accessing or using the Platform, including group organizers, participants, or advertisers.
  • Content means all text, images, videos, links, or files submitted or shared through the Platform.

2. Prohibited Activities

  • Sharing or disclosing personally identifiable information (PII) of other users without their explicit consent, including but not limited to names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, or photographs

By using the Platform, you agree not to engage in the following:

2.1 Illegal Activities

  • Posting, sharing, or promoting illegal content or activities
  • Using the Platform in violation of local, state, federal, or international law

2.2 Abuse and Harassment

  • Bullying, threatening, or harassing any user, organizer, or administrator
  • Discriminatory or hateful speech based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, disability, or sexual orientation
  • Spamming, trolling, or flooding comment threads or messages

2.3 Fraud and Misrepresentation

  • Impersonating another individual or misrepresenting your identity
  • Falsifying event details or attendance for financial or reputational gain
  • Conducting financial scams or fraudulent fundraising efforts

2.4 Platform Misuse

  • Attempting to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system or network
  • Circumventing authentication or access controls
  • Disrupting, overburdening, or interfering with the Platform's functionality
  • Using bots or scrapers to extract data without permission

2.5 Content Violations

  • Uploading content that is pornographic, obscene, or otherwise inappropriate for a family-oriented environment
  • Distributing viruses, malware, or other harmful software
  • Sharing copyrighted materials without proper authorization

2.6 Restricted Use for Enterprise Partners

  • Enterprise or white-label partners may not sublicense, resell, or provide access to the Platform outside of their authorized user base.
  • API usage must comply with separate contractual terms and may not be used to build competing services.
  • Advertisements for illegal products or services.
  • Misleading, deceptive, or fraudulent ads.
  • Ads promoting discrimination, hate speech, or violence.
  • Unsolicited bulk advertising or spam.

3. Advertising & Promotional Use

  • All advertisements must be truthful, not misleading, and comply with applicable advertising laws and FTC guidelines
  • Users must not use the Platform for multi-level marketing schemes or high-risk promotions (e.g., crypto pump-and-dumps, gambling, payday loans)
  • Homeschool Hive reserves the right to reject or remove any ad at its sole discretion
  • Advertisements targeting minors or related to educational content must fully comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and other applicable youth advertising regulations
  • All advertisements must be truthful, not misleading, and comply with applicable advertising laws and FTC guidelines
  • Users must not use the Platform for multi-level marketing schemes or high-risk promotions (e.g., crypto pump-and-dumps, gambling, payday loans)
  • Homeschool Hive reserves the right to reject or remove any ad at its sole discretion

We encourage users to flag inappropriate content or behavior directly within the Platform whenever possible.

5. Enforcement

Homeschool Hive may use internal audit logs and usage monitoring to investigate suspected violations.

Homeschool Hive reserves the right to issue behavioral warnings or guidance to users whose conduct approaches but does not yet violate this policy, in order to preserve platform integrity. Homeschool Hive reserves the right to take enforcement actions based on the severity and frequency of violations. These actions may include, but are not limited to:

  • Issuing a formal warning
  • Temporarily suspending user access
  • Permanently terminating accounts in egregious or repeat cases
  • Removing content that violates this AUP without prior notice
  • Cooperating with law enforcement authorities and complying with legal obligations
  • Where violations overlap with the Terms of Service or Privacy Policy, Homeschool Hive may apply additional penalties beyond those listed in this AUP.

Users may appeal enforcement actions by contacting support@homeschoolhive.co within 7 days of receiving notice. Appeals will be reviewed by our compliance team and responded to within 10 business days. Homeschool Hive reserves the right to take enforcement actions based on the severity and frequency of violations. These actions may include, but are not limited to:

  • Issuing a formal warning
  • Temporarily suspending user access
  • Permanently terminating accounts in egregious or repeat cases
  • Removing content that violates this AUP without prior notice
  • Cooperating with law enforcement authorities and complying with legal obligations

6. Policy Updates

This AUP may be updated periodically. Material changes will be communicated via email, an in-app notification banner, or other reasonable means. Continued use of the Platform after updates are made indicates your acceptance of the revised terms.

7. Governing Law

This AUP is governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States. Any disputes arising under this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state or federal courts located in Lee County, Florida, in accordance with the venue provisions in the Terms & Conditions.

8. Reservation of Rights and Modifications

Homeschool Hive reserves all rights not expressly granted herein. Failure to enforce any provision of this policy does not constitute a waiver of that right.

Homeschool Hive may modify this Acceptable Use Policy at any time. Material changes will be announced via the Platform or email. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
