What Your Letter Will Include
Based on California Education Code Section 33190, your letter will include:

- Child's name, date of birth, and grade level
- Statement of intent to homeschool

- Private School Name(California homeschools filing as private schools must choose a name for their school. This can be any name you choose.)
- Number of Students Enrolled(The total number of children who will be enrolled in your homeschool.)
- Instructor Name(The name of the person providing instruction. California requires that the instructor be "capable of teaching.")
Relevant Legal Language
Under California Education Code Section 33190, persons, firms, associations, partnerships, or corporations offering or conducting private school instruction on the elementary or high school level shall, between October 1 and October 15 of each year, file with the Superintendent of Public Instruction an affidavit or statement of prescribed information.
